The Luminous Mysteries

Christ is Baptized in the Jordan

When Jesus is baptized, the Father's voice is heard: "This is my beloved Son." All are called to become adopted sons and daughters of God through baptism. We pray that children in the womb may be protected, so that they may be born and welcomed into the Christian community by baptism.

Everything that happened to Christ lets us know that, after the pouring of water, the Holy Spirit comes down upon us from heaven and that, adopted by the Father's voice, we become sons of God.

Fatima Prayer

Let us Pray:

Dear Father, help us to preach even from the rooftops that every human being is invited to become a son of God, and is therefore sacred from conception till natural death. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Christ is made known at the Wedding of Cana

Jesus revealed His glory by the miracle at Cana. The new couple was blessed not only with wine, but with faith in Christ. Let us pray for strong marriages, rooted in the Lord, and open to the gift of new life.

The regulation of births represents one of the aspects of responsible fatherhood and motherhood. Legitimate intentions on the part of the spouses do not justify recourse to morally unacceptable means (for example, direct sterilisation or contraception)

Our Father

Hail Mary (say ten times)

Glory Be

Fatima Prayer

Let us Pray:

Dear Father, please bring to an end the war against children in the womb and all offences against the dignity of human life. We ask these things through Christ our Lord. Amen

Christ proclaims the Kingdom and Calls All to Conversion

"Repent and believe the Good News." Let us pray that these first words of Jesus' public ministry may be heard by all who have committed abortion. May they know that the Lord calls them to conversion, and may they experience life-giving repentance.

Jesus invites sinners to the table of the kingdom: "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners". He invites them to that conversion without which one cannot enter the kingdom, but shows them in word and deed his Father's boundless mercy for them and the vast "joy in heaven over one sinner who repents". The supreme proof of his love will be the sacrifice of his own life "for the forgiveness of sins".

Our Father

Hail Mary (say ten times)

Glory Be

Fatima Prayer

Let us Pray:

Dear Father, please give us the heavenly joy over even one sinner who repents, especially one today who has practised surgical or chemical abortion or other unnatural sexual behaviour. We ask these things through Christ our Lord. Amen

The Transfiguration

Christ is transformed on the mountain, and the disciples see His glory. May the eyes of all people be transformed, that they may see each and every human life as a reflection of the glory of God Himself.

You were transfigured on the mountain, and your disciples, as much as they were capable of it, beheld your glory, O Christ our God, so that when they should see you crucified they would understand that your Passion was voluntary, and proclaim to the world that you truly are the splendour of the Father.

Our Father

Hail Mary (say ten times)

Glory Be

Fatima Prayer

Let us Pray:

Dear Father, help us to understand that we too are called to toil on earth, serve on earth, suffer hunger and thirst, be exhausted, scorned and crucified, and thus pass through death to bliss in heaven. We ask these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jesus gives us the Eucharist

"This is My Body, given up for you." The Eucharist teaches us how to live and how to love. Let us pray that parents who sacrifice the babies for the sake of themselves may learn instead to put themselves aside for the sake of their babies.

Having passed from this world to the Father, Christ gives us in the Eucharist the pledge of glory with him. Participation in the Holy Sacrifice identifies us with his Heart, sustains our strength along the pilgrimage of this life, makes us long for eternal life, and unites us even now to the Church in heaven, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints.

Our Father

Hail Mary (say ten times)

Glory Be

Fatima Prayer

Let us Pray:

Dear Father, the sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist is offered also in reparation for the sins of the living and the dead and to obtain spiritual and temporal benefits from God. Please help us all to appreciate the extraordinary gifts of grace at every Mass. We ask these things through Christ our Lord. Amen.
